Architecture & Codebase Review

2 weeks

For teams who inherited a system, or are about to scale one, and need an honest read before committing budget.

  • Full review of the codebase, database schema and infrastructure as they stand today.
  • Written findings ranked by risk, with the reasoning and the evidence behind each one.
  • A target architecture and a staged migration path you can execute incrementally.
  • Security, performance and data-integrity problems called out explicitly, not softened.
  • A walkthrough call with your team, plus written answers to the follow-up questions.
  • Not included: implementation, refactoring or bug fixes. This engagement produces the plan, not the code.
Build Sprint

4 weeks

For getting one real slice of the product designed, built, tested and running in production.

  • A discovery week that ends in a written scope, a data model and acceptance criteria.
  • One agreed slice built to production quality: a feature, an API, an integration or a module.
  • Automated tests over the paths that carry money, permissions and personal data.
  • Dockerised build and a GitHub Actions pipeline, deployed to infrastructure you own.
  • Source in your repository from the first commit, with full intellectual property transfer.
  • Handover: architecture notes, a deployment runbook and a walkthrough with your team.
  • Not included: open-ended scope changes mid-sprint. New requirements are scoped into the next one.
Fractional Engineering Lead

per month

For teams that need senior engineering judgement continuously, without hiring a full-time lead.

  • Architecture ownership: I make and document the technical decisions your team builds on.
  • Code review on every pull request, with the reasoning explained rather than a bare approval.
  • Mentoring for your developers: pairing, standards, and turning tribal knowledge into written practice.
  • Release management: CI/CD pipelines, deployment cadence, incident response and rollback procedures.
  • Hiring support: technical screening and take-home review while you grow the team.
  • An agreed number of days per month, booked in advance, on a rolling monthly commitment.
