Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2 August 2026
This is the personal site of Abdullah Khaled, a full-stack engineer based in Giza, Egypt. I am the data controller for anything you send through it. You can reach me at info@abdullahkhaled.com.
It is a portfolio site. It carries no advertising, it does not sell or rent personal data, and it does not build profiles of visitors.
What I collect, and when
- Contact form. Your name, email address, subject and message, plus the optional website field if you fill it in. I use these only to answer you.
- Newsletter. Your email address and whether you confirmed the subscription. Nothing else.
- Account and store. If you create an account I store your name, email address and a hashed password. If you place an order I also store the billing and delivery details and the items ordered, because the order cannot be fulfilled without them.
- Server logs. Like any web server, mine records the IP address, browser user agent, requested page and timestamp of each request. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies. See the next section.
Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies keep the site working: your language choice, your session, the anti-forgery token on forms, and your signed-in state if you have an account. Turning them off would break the site.
Analytics are optional. Google Analytics 4 is wired into the site but switched off as of the date above. If I turn it on, it will load only after you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner, using Google Consent Mode v2 so nothing is measured before you agree. You can withdraw that choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.
Why I process it
To answer your enquiry, to send the newsletter you asked for, to run your account or order, to keep the site secure, and — only with your consent — to see which pages are worth keeping. Nothing else.
Who else sees it
My hosting provider stores the site and its database, and my email provider carries the messages the site sends. Google receives analytics data only if analytics is enabled and you have accepted it. I do not sell your data or pass it to anyone else, and I will disclose it only where a competent Egyptian authority lawfully requires it.
How long I keep it
Contact messages: while the conversation is still useful, and no longer than 24 months after our last exchange. Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. Accounts and orders: while the account exists, plus any period the law requires for sales records. Server logs: a short rolling window, measured in weeks.
Your rights
Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) gives you the right to know what personal data I hold about you, to receive a copy, to have it corrected or erased, to object to how it is used, and to withdraw consent you gave earlier. Email info@abdullahkhaled.com and I will act on it. If you are outside Egypt, I will handle the equivalent rights under your own data protection law the same way.
Children
This site is not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If the way this site handles data changes, I will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
